I have bought at the Argentian beef place.  Their prices are higher, but the product is worth every penny.  They also sell Uraguayan beef and lamb.  The beef can run more than $100 (a lot of beef) but they will cut it to specs and wrap it for you.  It comes frozen.

Another place is La Suiza.  Kind of a general meat market/bakery etc.  We buy there also.

Don't know the street name.  It is between 6 de Deciembre and Eloy Alfaro on Portugal.  Take the first (and only street between 6 de Deciembre and Eloy Alfaro.  It is a one way street and drops you back off on Eloy Alfaro.  From Eloy Alfaro its a left and from 6 de Deciembre its a right.  La Suiza is on the right.

BTW, there is a resturant on Portugal between 6 de Deciembre and Eloy Alfaro, SUR (I think) that serves Argentine beef.  Its a bit pricey.  On the same street there is a resturant run by an ex-pat that serves creole dishes

another place worth attention in Quito

Federer
Eloy Alfaro y Belgica
2239558

they sell Quesos de Montana Yanayacu
different meat and meat products, but the reason we are
in love with this place - its parrilladas
it works this way
you come over to the meat counter with pretty big selection
of sausages, meat, pinchos and so on
tell the worker what you want, how you want it prepared on parrillada
we usually go to the vine/beer stand (inside of the store) and get something to accompany our food
go to the cashier, pay
they have seats inside and outside.
meat are prepared right away and served with boiled baby potatoes,
tomatoes, lettuce and every table has a bottle of their heavenly sause.
The prices are low to moderate, very reasonable.
Service are super.
